Ghost World

Based on the graphic novel by Daniel Clowes, the movie “Ghost World” was directed by Terry Zwigoff and released in 2001.

”Ghost World” stars Thora Birch as Enid and Scarlett Johansson as Rebecca, two outsiders who just graduated, entering the ‘real world’. Enid and Rebecca, who enjoy making fun of random strangers and bothering their pseudo-crush, Josh (the late Brad Renfro), slowly drift apart as Enid is involved with summer school, while Rebecca focuses more on ‘growing up’ – getting an apartment and a secure and stable job.

As the result of a prank, Enid and Rebecca meet Seymour (Steve Buscemi), a middle-aged psoriasis sufferer of whom they enjoy poking fun. Enid, however, develops a close friendship with Seymour after she is exposed to his collection of music and art (the soundtrack for this rocks)

This film is packed with emotion, but it will make you smile (and possibly will even make you want to dance) as you watch some silly shenanigans, or Enid’s attempt at finding (and keeping) a job.

The entire film (almost) is actually available on YouTube, but the person who posted them never posted the very last part of the movie… so, fair warning, the end is not there.
